Joffrey Ballet School presents the New York City Jazz & Contemporary Intensive: SPECTRUM!

SPECTRUM bridges the worlds of concert and commercial dance, preparing dancers to enter the industry, in any capacity, with versatility and adaptability. Train with today’s most exciting artists, instructors, and choreographers, whose expertise spans every facet of the dance industry!

A rigorous and diverse schedule will challenge techniques, reimagine artistic boundaries, and open the possibilities for a student’s future in dance! The intensive culminates in a fully-produced performance at a premier New York City theater, offering the complete experience from studio to stage.

The Joffrey Ballet School has been operating in-person utilizing Covid Safety procedures since October 2020 without interruption.

The New York City Jazz & Contemporary Intensive will be operated IN-PERSON in New York, New York this summer. In the unlikely event of a government mandate which prohibits dance instruction, all students registered for in-person programming will be offered their choice of a refund (less registration and processing fees) or transfer to another program.

Our studios are designed to welcome students back in-person safely, with social distancing, temperature checks, use of masks, limited class sizes, HEPA Air Filtration systems, and frequent disinfecting procedures, based on the recommendations of Dance/USA Task Force on Dancer Health.

Our premiere studio locations place dancers in the heart of New York City, surrounded by inspiration in every direction. From the lights of Broadway, to the renowned skyline known across the world, experience a summer of dance in this iconic city with the Joffrey Ballet School!

Available for students 12 and older.

At Joffrey Ballet School we welcome our students to a safe, exciting and diverse student life where we celebrate our community. Traveling away from home is a big decision, but in doing so you have chosen to increase your opportunities to learn, grow and make life changing connections and memories. 

The Residence Halls are located in prime Manhattan locations that are within short travel distance from Joffrey Ballet School, Little Italy, Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge and much more. Students will have access to a bundle of amenities as well as indoor and outdoor common areas. Optional meal plans are available. Our live-in Housing staff are available to students and parents 24 hours a day and assist by providing support and guidance at the dorm and studio. Students can sign up for an escort to and from the studio.

All of our students also enjoy access to our exclusive student life programs and events. The events include site tours, world class workshops, cruises, trips to Museums, Broadway Shows and Dance productions. *All events are contingent on availability and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although it is not required, we highly recommend that students attending the summer intensives stay at the residence hall.
