Workshop Overview
INSTRUCTOR: Annastasia Mercedes
RATE: 6 SESSIONS, $250
ABOUT: Joffrey Ballet School’s Absolute Beginner Ballet Series offers adults a welcoming, structured pathway into ballet through three seasonal sessions each year: Winter, Spring, and Summer. Led by Annastasia Mercedes, the series is designed for adults who are new to ballet or ready to build on an emerging foundation in a supportive, community-centered environment.
Level A: Fundamentals
An introductory six-class workshop for adults with little to no prior ballet experience. Students are guided through the foundational elements of ballet, including basic positions, core exercises, introductory terminology, posture, alignment, and classroom etiquette.
Level B: Decoding
A beginner-level six-class workshop for adults with foundational ballet experience who are ready to deepen their understanding of technique. Students continue building coordination, confidence, vocabulary, and clarity within a supportive and progressive class setting. With strong instruction and a warm studio culture, the AB Series helps adult beginners start with confidence and continue with intention.
Registration is required for this workshop as this is a series of 6 classes, not single drop-in classes. Consistent attendance is important, as each class will build upon the previous concepts studied. Students cannot miss more than 1/4 of the workshop series. (Recommended for beginners).
