The Joffrey Las Vegas Ballet Summer Intensive, led by Artistic Directors Maximilien Baud and Matthew Prescott offers dancers an immersive ballet training experience that connects the rich history of the Joffrey Ballet with the evolution of ballet in the 21st century. Through a balance of classical foundation, contemporary exploration, and professional mentorship, dancers strengthen their technique, artistry, and versatility while training within the dynamic performance landscape of Las Vegas.

A Ballet audition is required for admission to this intensive. Students may audition in person or digitally. Dancers must be 10 years old by June 7th in order to audition and be accepted for this program.
Students do not need to attend a separate audition for every Summer Intensive they are interested in. By completing a Ballet audition, dancers are automatically considered for all Summer Intensives within the Ballet audition genre for which they meet the stated age requirements.

Students train in a full-day intensive environment designed to build technique, artistry, versatility, and professional training habits. During the first week of the program a typical day begins with classes in the morning, followed by an approximately 30–45 minute lunch break, with short 5–15 minute breaks between classes. Training then continues through the late afternoon or early evening with additional classes, specialty training, and/or rehearsals. For dancers attending the second week of the program emphasis is placed on the rehearsal and performance process. Dancers should expect to have technique class in the morning followed by rehearsals.

The curriculum may include Ballet Technique, Pointe Technique, Contemporary, Men’s Technique, Partnering, Mystere Masterclasses, and Jazz.
Students also have opportunities to attend celebrated Cirque du Soleil productions, providing a firsthand look at the caliber of performance and production within the Las Vegas entertainment industry. Please note that certain classes may be offered only to select levels based on age, placement, and experience. Registered students will receive an exact schedule the week before the intensive start date.

Dancers are assigned to training groups based on their age and may be additionally evaluated during the first day of classes.
Studio assignments are determined by program scheduling, group placement, and enrollment. Requests for a particular studio location cannot be accommodated.
For students registered for housing, residence hall assignments are made based on several factors, which may include age, gender, program selection, dates of attendance, and available space. Requests for specific dorm building assignments cannot be guaranteed.
