Matthew Prescott

Joffrey Ballet School

Matthew Prescott, born and raised in Idaho, graduated high school from Interlochen Arts Academy and attended the inaugural year of the Joffrey/New School in New York City before joining the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. He went on to perform with numerous companies, including Donald Byrd’s Spectrum Dance Theater, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, Ballet NY, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, The Alabama Ballet, Armitage Gone! Dance, BalletX, Morphoses the Wheeldon Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and The Lyric Opera of Chicago. Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Chamber Dance Project, the Joffrey Ballet School, BalletX, and Interlochen Arts Academy have performed his choreography.

Matthew made his Broadway debut in the Phantom of the Opera cast and served as the Resident Choreographer on the national tour of Billy Elliot the Musical.

Matthew is the Co-Artistic Director of Joffrey Musical Theater NYC and London, Vegas Jazz and Contemporary, Cirque Arts, and Vegas Ballet. He was part of the team that created, produced, and starred in the hit reality show Joffrey Elite.

Matthew holds a BA in Dance and Theater from SUNY Empire State College and is working towards an MBA from SUNY Empire State University, which he will receive in May 2025.
