The Joffrey Concert Group in New York City Presents ICONS Dance Festival, a Premier New York Dance Festival Featuring Limón2 and BHDos

New York City, NY – Feb 27, 2025– The Joffrey Concert Group in New York City is thrilled to announce the return of ICONS Dance Festival, an electrifying celebration of dance artistry, taking place at the renowned Mark Morris Dance Center Theater. This year’s festival will showcase extraordinary performances by the sublime dancers of the Joffrey Concert Group, Limón2, and BHDos, with three performances happening on: April 4 at 7:30 PM and April 5 at 3:30 PM & 7:30 PM.

On day 2 of the festival, dance enthusiasts will have the rare opportunity to participate in exclusive Master Classes before the evening performance. Led by Bradley Shelver (Artistic Director of ICONS Dance Festival and the Joffrey Concert Group), Dante Puleio (Artistic Director of Limón Dance Company), and Rodney Hamilton (Associate Director of the School of Dance at Ballet Hispánico), these sessions will take place on Saturday, April 5, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Participants will gain invaluable insight into the artistic philosophies and techniques of these three distinguished industry leaders.

The ICONS Dance Festival performance night will showcase a dynamic repertoire, featuring works by the legendary José Limón, performed by Limón2 dancers, as well as compelling compositions by Bradley Shelver and world premieres by NDT alum Ken Ossola, performed by the Joffrey Concert Group dancers. Additionally, dancers from BHDos will take the stage, bringing their unique artistry and energy to the festival. This fusion of classical, modern, and contemporary styles promises a captivating experience for audiences of all backgrounds.

Under the guidance of Associate Director of the School of Dance Rodney Hamilton, dancers bring Latine culture to schools, communities and corporations. With engaging and interactive performances, BHdos leads audiences through an exciting exploration of dance influenced by Spain and Latin America. Each fully-costumed performance features impressive choreography from the current Ballet Hispánico repertory, including recently debuted works by Eduardo Vilaro and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa.

The Pa’lante Program is Ballet Hispánico’s full-time, daytime training program which includes Pa’lante Scholars, Apprentices and Trainees. The Pa’lantes study and train under the unique Ballet Hispánico model and train in ballet and contemporary, learn Ballet Hispánico repertory, and have several performance opportunities. The Pa’lante Scholars study tuition-free and Pa’lante Apprentices and Trainees are a tuition-based program. Partial scholarships and tuition assistance are available. This exclusive program has limited enrollment and is open to all dancers of all backgrounds.

For over fifty years Ballet Hispánico has been a platform for youth to find their dreams in the dance world. We have made it our mission to shine a spotlight on these talented young dancers, uplifting their voices, and ultimately creating a central place for them on the world’s foremost stages. As the professional division of La Academia, the Pa’lante Program will offer all students the opportunity to study full-time under the unique Ballet Hispánico training model and methodologies.
