Ruoyi He started her training at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China and the Joffrey Ballet School, where she studied under Stacy Caddell and Era Jouravlev and performed works choreographed by George Balanchine, Earl Mosely, and Robert Joffrey.  In addition, Ruoyi attended intensive workshops with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Moscow, the English National Ballet School, and the Juilliard School.  Ruoyi performed as a guest soloist with the Brighton Ballet Theater in a 2017 production of The Nutcracker.  And in 2018, Ruoyi joined the Nashville Ballet, where she performed numerous works choreographed by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and Paul Vasterling (including SerenadeWestern SymphonySwan Lake, and Romeo and Juliet),as well as contemporary ballet works choreographed by Annabella Lopez Ochoa, Gina Patterson, and Charlotte Boye-Christensen. 

Ruoyi received her B.F.A in Dance from Montclair State University in 2025 where she worked with critically acclaimed choreographers such as Maxine Steinman, Leslie Kraus, and Cameron McKinney. She is currently an adjunct professor in Montclair State’s Theater and Dance Department under the directorship of Kathleen Kelley and Dr. Elizabeth McPherson. Ruoyi is also a National Training Curriculum Fellow for American Ballet Theater. In 2025, she debuted her own solo work “Ode of Yimeng” at the Lincoln Center.
