Malcolm McMichael is a New Jersey / New York based dancer, model, and tarot reader. Raised in Jersey City, NJ, Malcolm graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance from Montclair State University. He has performed at venues such as The Joyce Theater, Jacob’s Pillow, Judson Church, New York Live Arts, and The Kennedy Center. Malcolm has danced the works of Martha Graham as a member of Graham 2, Abdel Salaam, Andrea Miller, Christal Brown, Bill T. Jones, Earl Mosley, Jose Limon, and Stephen Shynes. Malcolm was the Assistant Director of Shyne’s “It’s BiGGER Than Me: A Film on the Black Experience During the Pandemic” in 2020, and has been commissioned by Dancewave Company 2 (DC2) to create a contemporary work in 2023. Malcolm is also a passionate teacher, sharing his love of dance through Horton, Contemporary, and Graham-based Modern classes. His teaching credits include The Joffrey Ballet School, Concepts Dance Academy, Dancewave, The School of Nimbus, Teens@Graham, and Ballet & Beyond NYC. He is currently a movement artist with INSPIRIT Dance Company, a freelance collaborator, and a happy vegan.
