Hannah Klinkman (she/her) is a dancer, artist, and educator. She has been a member of Pilobolus since 2021 and currently serves as the company’s dance captain.
Hannah received formal training in classical ballet and contemporary dance at Ballet Chelsea, Grand Valley State University, and BalletMet. Ever curious and open to exploring diverse movement modalities, she has trained in partnering, martial arts, acrobatics, puppetry, improvisation, running, theater, Feldenkrais, yoga, and Pilates.
Her professional career began with ballet companies, including BalletMet and Ballet Rhode Island, before her curiosity led her to join MOMIX, where she was an original cast member of Alice and toured Viva MOMIX. Most recently, she leapt into the world of Pilobolus—making the jump through the mushroom kingdom.
Hannah has an insatiable appetite for creating and collaborating. She co-founded The Choreography Project (Rhode Island) in 2018 and continues to choreograph both solo and in partnership with Sean Langford among others. She is also a costume and clothing designer, weaving her designs into both everyday wear and stage productions.
Over her 13 years of teaching, Hannah has had the pleasure of working with students ages 3 to 90+, in a wide range of disciplines—including Pilobolus , ballet, pointe, Pilates, partnering, creative movement, pre-ballet, adult ballet, improvisation, modern, contemporary, group fitness, and water aerobics. She strives to balance rigorous technique with a spirit of play, guiding her students to discover both fire and joy in their movement.
