Eric Parra is a first generation Colombian-American artist from Union City, NJ. He graduated from Montclair State University where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. Since then, Eric has choreographed works at Union City High School, Franklin High School, Montclair High School, Montclair State University, and Santa Barbara Dance Theatre. This past January he had the honor to reconstruct José Limón’s masterwork There is a Time at Shenandoah Conservatory. Eric has served as a teaching artist for the José Limón Dance Foundation (JDLF), Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, Bates Dance Festival and NJPAC, among others. Select performance credits include: Limón Dance Company (Soloist), Hell’s Kitchen on Broadway (Vacation Swing), Fire Shut Up in My Bones (US Tour), The Life and Times of Malcolm X (US Tour), POSE on FX, Camille A. Brown & Dancers, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance. Mr. Parra has recently been appointed Community Liaison for JDLF, and is part of the Board of Directors for the Martha Hill Dance Fund.
