The Joffrey Ballet School studios and residence halls are designed to provide our community with safe in-person instruction as well as clean & healthy boarding. The following information represents an overview of the COVID-19 related safety and sanitation protocols we are following during the 2020 – 2021 academic year. More detailed information regarding specific measures can be found in the link at the bottom of this page. While we are optimistic that the recently developed vaccines will allow us to resume dancing as we did prior to COVID-19, we do anticipate it will be necessary to keep similar measures in place through the summer and potentially into the 2021 Fall Term.

Our team follows and enforces strict screening protocols at all of our locations and events. Students, staff and visitors have to complete temperature checks and our HealthCheck screening questions before joining onsite or at a scheduled activity.

All of our dance studios, restrooms, offices and common areas at Joffrey Ballet School are furnished with a HEPA Air Filtration system that is designed to filter pollution, bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19, out of the air. These advanced systems filter the entire air volume of a room five to seven times an hour. Aside from daily cleanings, we have also scheduled frequent disinfecting procedures that are performed before, during and after classes at the studio and residence hall.

All of our Hybrid / In-Person students have been placed in cohorts that will follow the same schedule. Our housing students have also been assigned to the same apartments at the dormitory, based on their cohort. Dance studios are operated under reduced capacity and our housing students are assigned to single bedrooms at the residence hall.

We are dedicated to promote safe and mandated practices at all of our locations that include social distancing in common areas and in the dance studios, requirement of masks and PPE (when necessary), unidirectional travel instructions and staggered arrival and departure times to avoid congregation in the corridors and common areas.

Joffrey Ballet School will enforce all state mandated travel restrictions and requirements including protocols for quarantining and testing. Students, faculty and staff must submit a negative COVID-19 test result before starting onsite and must take part in monthly continued testing. We will require all faculty and staff to be vaccinated when they are approved to do so by government authorities.

The safety of our community is always of utmost importance, and we appreciate your support to keep our community safe. We will continue to follow state and federal requirements as well as recommendations of Dance/USA Task Force on Dancer Health.

For those planning to travel to one of our dance Intensives for the summer of 2021 please be advised that we will follow the travel guidelines required by the State in which each program occurs. While we usually advise our students to make travel arrangements as far in advance as possible, this year we advise you to either purchase travel approximately a month before the start of your program to ensure your travel plans adhere to State travel guidelines or purchase refundable travel arrangements. If you are unsure what the travel guidelines are for the State you are travelling to at the time you plan to purchase your travel arrangements please contact customer service.
