New York City, NY — October 12, 2026 — Joffrey Ballet School in New York City is proud to announce the official launch of its 2026–2027 Domestic & International Audition Tour, themed The Art of Becoming. With approximately 190 audition locations worldwide, the School continues its commitment to discovering and nurturing emerging dance talent across the globe.
International auditions have already begun this October, marking the start of a global journey to identify dancers for acceptance and potential merit-based scholarships to the School’s 2027 Summer Intensives. While select auditions are already underway, the majority of the Domestic & International Audition Tour will take place from January through April 2027, bringing audition opportunities to dancers across the country and around the world.
Rooted in the belief that every dancer’s journey is one of continuous growth, discovery, and transformation, The Art of Becoming celebrates the individuality, artistry, and potential each dancer brings to their training.
“Every dancer arrives with a unique story, and our goal is to recognize not only the artist they are today, but the artist they have the potential to become,” said Brigid Silva-Lohoff, Audition Tour Director at Joffrey Ballet School. “Through this tour, we’re excited to connect with dancers from around the world and create opportunities for them to take the next step in their artistic journeys.”
In addition to Summer Intensive opportunities, dancers participating in the Audition Tour will also be considered for acceptance into Joffrey Ballet School’s year-round Pre-Professional Trainee Program, offering an additional pathway toward advanced training and professional development.

2027 Summer Intensive Dates & Locations Announced
Joffrey Ballet School has also announced its 2027 Summer Intensive dates and locations, offering dancers opportunities to train with renowned faculty and artistic leaders across a diverse range of dance disciplines.
Among this season’s exciting additions is the launch of the JBS x UBC Midwest Pre-Professional Ballet Summer Intensive in Iowa, a new partnership with Universal Ballet Competition that brings a dynamic training experience to aspiring young ballet artists ages 10–19. This collaboration marks an exciting expansion of the School’s summer offerings, creating new opportunities for dancers to pursue their artistic development.

Audition Registration & Eligibility
Pre-registration for Domestic & International Auditions is highly encouraged. Dancers who register in advance benefit from a discounted audition fee and an expedited check-in process.
Audition Fees
- In-Person: $43 USD (Early Registration) | $47 USD (Walk-In)
- Virtual: $45 USD
Age Requirements
- Ballet and Jazz & Contemporary: Dancers must be between 8 and 25 years old and must turn 8 by June 7, 2027.
- Musical Theater, Hip Hop, and Tap: Dancers must be between 10 and 25 years old and must turn 10 by their respective program’s start date.
