Joffrey Ballet School Continues Partnership with HEAT Convention & Competition

Juliana GreenwoodAnnouncements

New York, NY – Sep 12, 2025– Joffrey Ballet School continues its partnership with HEAT Convention & Competition for the 2025/2026 season. HEAT brings cutting-edge instruction from the industry’s top working professionals, equipping dancers with the tools they need to navigate today’s evolving dance world.

Through this collaboration, dancers across the country gain the opportunity to audition for Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz & Contemporary Summer Intensives as well as its Pre-Professional Trainee Programs in New York City—two of the school’s most prestigious training opportunities. Auditions take place in every HEAT tour city, and while participation in the convention is encouraged, attendance at HEAT is not required. This structure demonstrates a shared commitment to accessibility, ensuring dancers nationwide are seen, supported, and offered clear pathways to their future.

Leading the auditions is Joffrey Ballet School Artistic Director Angelica Stiskin, who also serves on the faculty of HEAT. Stiskin guides dancers through the audition process while actively scouting promising talent for both summer and year-round programs. She is joined by additional Joffrey Ballet School faculty members, whose expertise enriches the convention environment and further strengthens the bridge between HEAT’s immersive experience and Joffrey Ballet School’s professional-caliber training.

“The Joffrey Ballet School Audition Tour is about more than just selecting dancers for our programming—it’s about connecting with the broader dance community and sharing opportunities available to young artists,” said Brigid Silva-Lohoff, Director of the Joffrey Ballet School’s Audition Tour. “Our partnership with HEAT demonstrates the benefit of collaborations within our artistic community. By sharing a passion, together we can offer dancers greater inspiration, visibility and access to the possibilities of dance education.”

“This partnership is about breaking boundaries, taking dancers from convention floors to the world stage,” said Angelica Stiskin, Artistic Director at Joffrey Ballet School. “It is thrilling to connect with dancers across the nation and offer them a chance to share in their future. These auditions are more than evaluations; they are moments to inspire, encourage, and open doors.”
