Sophie Dragomire grew up in Rhode Island but moved to South Carolina for college at the University of South Carolina. She is a dual major in Sport and Entertainment Management and Dance Performance and Choreography. She has danced her whole life, so she wanted to continue her training in college. Some experience that she has received related to the Joffrey internship includes working for the South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory for two consecutive summers. She was a counselor who made close connections with both her co-workers and students and was able to assist rehearsals for esteemed faculty at the program such as Valentina Kozlova. Sophie followed and provided care to the ballet students each day and night by providing supervision, a listening ear, and even medical attention when needed. The athletic trainer told her to take students to the hospital sometimes when there was a suspected fracture. She made sure to know each student well and be able to answer any questions they had, while supporting them through their summer training. Sophie currently works as a fitness trainer at a studio called Pvolve in Columbia, SC. She programs classes and trains members 3-4 days a week. She is passionate about fitness and health and wellness. Sophie is continuing to improve her technique and audition for ballet companies for next season as well.
