Sierra Stewart-Peterson is a dance educator, choreographer, and multidisciplinary performer with over 13 years of professional performance experience and 11 years of experience in dance education and choreography. She holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Pedagogy from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a BFA in Dance Performance from The University of the Arts.
Her performance career spans concert dance, commercial work, and the entertainment industry across stage and screen. Credits include Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Netflix), and live performances with Solange Knowles at the Guggenheim Museum and Philadanco II. Her screen work also includes featured performances in the Grammy Award-winning music video “Fight For You” by H.E.R. for Judas and the Black Messiah, as well as Lil Uzi Vert’s “Demon High.”
Her commercial and print work as a dancer, actress, and model includes campaigns for L’Oréal, Macy’s, TLC, Pepsi x Puma, Great Soles, and Brown Girls Do Ballet.
Her diverse training and performance background has taken her from concert dance stages to national touring as a backup dancer, music videos, and television/film. Shaping a versatile artistic foundation that informs both her creative work and teaching practice.
As an educator and choreographer, Sierra has spent over a decade designing curriculum, directing programs, and mentoring dancers across all ages and levels in both New York City and Atlanta, GA. She is passionate about developing dancers who are technically strong, creatively expressive, and prepared for multiple pathways in the industry, including college and professional careers.
She is currently working as a dance educator, choreographer, majorette coach, competition coach, and mentor, while enjoying life as a wife and new mom.
