Safin Karim (he/him) could not be more pleased to join the Joffrey Ballet faculty as a pianist, having previously worked on the creative time of the Joffrey Summer Musical Intensive’s production of Mean Girls.

Safin is a music director and pianist, frequently collaborating with singers and venues throughout New York City – most recently as the Music Director of 54 Sings Phil Collins at 54 Below and Boots and Strings: A Night of Country Music at The Green Room 42.

Safin has had the pleasure of collaborating with theatre legends such as Kelli O’Hara, Michael “Koz” Kosarin, James Lapine, and Alan Menken as a music assistant and pianist.

Currently, Safin pursues his B.M. in Vocal Performance at NYU: Steinhardt, where he studies voice with distinguished tenor Dr. Scott Murphree.
