NJCU's Jagged Little Pill
SELECTED TRAINEESWe are incredibly proud of our Trainees featured in NJCU's Jagged Little Pill production, happening March 20–29, 2026. This production features choreography by our very own Artistic Director Angelica Stiskin, with Trainee Alumna Layla Shoobridge serving as Associate Choreographer, bringing a dynamic and emotionally driven movement language under the leadership and direction of Marc Dalio, Artistic Director of the NJCU Center for the Arts.
Inspired by the groundbreaking 1995 album that made Alanis Morissette a household name, Jagged Little Pill has been reimagined for the stage as a raw and deeply human story. Rather than a biographical retelling, the musical follows the Healy family, whose seemingly perfect life begins to unravel as they confront identity, pressure, and the complexities beneath the surface. Set in Connecticut, the story invites audiences into an honest and urgent reflection of the modern family experience.

Student Choreography Workshop
Trainee ProgramWhere Trainees Become Choreographers.
Their Vision. Their Voice. Their Work.
There is a moment when a dancer begins to create, not just perform, and the Student Choreography Workshop (SCW) lives in that shift. Under the mentorship of Artistic Director At-Large Angelica Stiskin, our Trainees step into a fully produced choreography lab, taking on the roles of choreographers, cast members, rehearsal directors, and stagehands. Through months of development, panel feedback, and process from October through April, each work evolves from an idea into something fully realized, shaped by risk, collaboration, and a deep commitment to their own artistic voice.
What you will experience on stage is more than a performance. It is growth made visible, a culmination of process, and a powerful step into the professional world. Be in the room where it all comes to life.

NYC Trainee Program
Ballet and Jazz & Contemporary Trainee Concentrations and the joffrey Concert GroupContinuum: Our Kinetic LineageJoin us for our first combined Performance Week, Continuum: Our Kinetic Lineage, a powerful shared performance uniting dancers from both the Ballet and Jazz & Contemporary concentrations of the Pre-Professional Trainee Program at Joffrey Ballet School.
This landmark week celebrates lineage, evolution, and possibility, bringing together artists who train across disciplines yet share a singular commitment to excellence. Through bold classical foundations, contemporary voices, and jazz-inflected movement, Continuum illuminates the technical rigor, stylistic range, and artistic curiosity that define the school’s training philosophy.
Each work traces the living thread between tradition and innovation. Dancers inherit, question, and transform movement across generations, revealing technique not as something fixed, but as a vibrant and ever-evolving language. Here, the past fuels the present, and the future takes shape in real time on stage.
The Pre-Professional Trainee Program celebrates dancers as both stewards and architects of what comes next, embodying a kinetic lineage that connects where we have been, where we are, and what is yet to come.
As the week culminates, both concentrations come together once more for Graduation on Sunday, May 10, 2026, a meaningful moment of reflection and celebration. This ceremony honors the dedication, growth, and artistry of our Trainees as they complete their training and step forward into the next chapter of their artistic journeys. It is both a closing and a beginning, recognizing not only what has been accomplished, but the limitless potential that lies ahead.
