Mara is a sophomore psychology and dance student at New York University. Originally from Minnesota, she grew up dancing classical ballet, contemporary, and jazz styles. As a teenager, Mara attended Kansas City Ballet School’s pre-professional daytime program to further her dance education. Mara has enjoyed not only dancing but sharing her passion for the arts through teaching and choreographing. While at NYU, Mara has participated in many clubs, including the “NYU Social Justice Arts Club,” “Philosophy Club,” and an administrative assistant for “The Ballet Collaborative at NYU,” the university’s performing ballet ensemble. Outside of university, Mara has had the opportunity to work with the broader New York City community by participating in Mental Health advocacy work with The Urban Justice Center. Combining her background in dance with her studies in psychology, Mara hopes to support artists’ well-being through counseling and wellness programs in the future.
