Lauren Ashley Mortimer, a native of Butler, Pennsylvania, is pursuing dual degrees in Dance Performance and Choreography (BFA) and Elementary Education (BS.Ed.) at Slippery Rock University (SRU). Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with dance rehearsals and teaching yoga and dance at local studios, Lauren demonstrates exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.

Certified in CPR and lifeguarding, she emphasizes health and wellness in her professional and personal lifestyle. Her experience includes working as a K-12 substitute teacher, mentoring incoming dance majors, and founding Rock n’s Fusion, a dance club at SRU dedicated to sharing her passion for dance.

Lauren has begun building a professional dance career, appearing as the lead dancer in Ashley Marina’s music video for Clouds Across the Sun and as a backup dancer in Erica Perri’s What You Want music video, produced by Jamal Woodson/SLAMM Entertainment, LLC, and C4 Digital Media. Her performance highlights include the 9th Annual White Wave SoloDuo Festival, the Harlem Globetrotters halftime show at PPG Arena, and appearances with Bodiography Dance Company at SUCCOP Theater. She has also performed in faculty and guest concerts at Miller Theater, including Traces by Irishia Romaine and Rove by Ryan McMullen, along with numerous other works throughout her college career.

She is excited to be part of the Joffrey Ballet School’s summer internship program, where she looks forward to contributing her enthusiasm, discipline, and passion for dance.
