“Kenna Morris Garcia is a versatile performer, choreographer, and educator whose career spans stage, screen, and international classrooms. An alumna of the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, KY, she studied modern dance at the University of Oklahoma and earned a B.S. Degree in Physical Therapy before joining the Certificate Program at The Ailey School.

Kenna’s performance career includes a range of experiences across concert dance, theater, and commercial work. Highlights include dancing with artists such as Missy Elliott and Pharrell, and credits in film and television including Saturday Night Live, the MTV VMAs, America’s Got Talent, and the feature films Idlewild and Bolden. She has performed in national tours and regional productions, including the 1st National Tour of Memphis (Dance Captain/Swing), The Wiz (City Center Encores), and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as a Radio City Rockette. Throughout her career, she has worked with acclaimed choreographers including Hinton Battle, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Hi-Hat, and had the honor of performing original Fosse works including Mein Herr and Bye Bye Blackbird with the Verdon Fosse Legacy.

With over 25 years of teaching experience, Kenna is on faculty at Steps on Broadway, the Steps Conservatory, and Joffrey Ballet School. Her classes are rooted in musical clarity, performance dynamics, and technical discipline. Drawing from her deep background in jazz, musical theater, and commercial dance, Kenna’s choreography challenges dancers to find nuance, power, and joy in their movement. She is passionate about developing confident, expressive artists in a supportive and rigorous environment.”
