Colby Connelly
Colby Connelly, originally from Middletown, Connecticut, obtained her BFA in Dance with an emphasis in Ballet Pedagogy from The Hartt School in 2022. She began her most intense training at Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts in 2014. There she studied ballet, modern, improvisation, composition, and more. At Hartt, she has taught ballet and modern to dancers ages 5-17. She had the opportunity to perform an original work by Sir Richard Alston as well as classical Limón, Cunningham, Graham, and Lar Lubovitch pieces. Colby has a passion for improvisation and creating dances. She premiered her own work in 2020 and 2021 composer-choreographer collaborations. She was a guest artist at her alma mater where she premiered an original solo and danced the lead in Martha Graham’s Steps in the Street alongside the students there. She choreographed for Hartford Gay Mens Chorus, Real History Productions and both danced and taught for Sonia Plumb Dance Company- all based in Hartford, CT. Colby is looking forward to continuing her career as a dancer, teacher, and creator in New York City.
