Job Description
The Joffrey Ballet School is seeking an enthusiastic individual to handle the front desk & reception for our busy studio.
The Studio Coordinator will work closely with several departments to ensure an exceptional customer experience at the Joffrey Ballet School. They will be the direct point of contact for all renters of our studio spaces in the West Village and Long Island City and will coordinate the schedule with other departments across the School. In the evenings, the Coordinator will welcome dancers to our drop-in, open classes. They will provide support and assistance to attendees, faculty, and administrative staff.
Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies
- Must be able to work an evening shift (1:30 pm – 9:30 pm) Monday – Friday.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but open to candidates without if they have prior administrative experience
- Exceptional Customer Service skills
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Passion for arts and entertainment, preferably in dance
- Ability to interact with patrons in a positive and helpful manner
- Competency in Google Suite, especially Google Sheets
- Knowledge of MindBody platform preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Extremely organized and motivated, with great attention to details
- Willingness to assist other departments and teams, to achieve the high quality and best results
Responsibilities:
Reception
- Welcome and greet visitors and families
- Act as an initial point of contact with parents and students for general school questions
- Redirect parents and students to the different department offices for program inquiries; distributing correspondence to necessary departments if they are not available
- Assist with simple audio/studio equipment and classroom management assistance for teachers as needed
- Maintain studio security by following safety procedures and controlling elevator access to other floors
- Open & Close the studios, ensure all security steps are followed
- Assist with clerical projects that could include filing, documentation, collecting data, mail, etc.
- Assist with facility needs and emergencies
Assist with Open Classes
- Check-in and supervise the Open Class Program
- Screen individuals and make sure they are registered for classes
- Maintain the Open Class Program email account
- Help faculty & students with technology issues
Rentals
- Liaise with prospective and current renters. Provide them with policies and assistance in booking studio space with Joffrey
- Book rentals for our studios in two locations
- Maintain the Rentals email account
Time Commitment:
Monday – Friday
1:30pm – 9:30pm
Compensation:
$20 an hour
