As a Graphic Design Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the Joffrey Ballet School’s Marketing Department in the creation of branded visual content. Working remotely and directly with the Creative & Marketing Director and the Social Media & Content Coordinator, this internship will provide valuable, hands-on experience in creating dynamic digital materials used across social media, email campaigns, and promotional platforms. You will gain insight into the creative process while helping bring the Joffrey Ballet School’s artistic vision and brand to life.

Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 18 years or older and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Basic-Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing or holding a BFA or BA degree with a focus on dance, graphic design, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong portfolio showcasing layout, branding, and social media graphics.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their creative requirements.
- Ability to follow brand guidelines and adapt design concepts to different platforms.
- Passion for the arts and education.
- A background in dance, with an interest in multiple dance styles being a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work long hours, especially during peak periods.

Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Creative & Marketing Director and Social Media & Content Coordinator, the Graphic Design Intern will:
- Assist in designing branded assets for social media, email campaigns, and digital ads.
Support the development of marketing materials such as flyers, playbill design, digital signage, posters, and social media assets.
Help maintain brand consistency across all visual content.
Provide creative input in brainstorming sessions and design meetings.
Organize and archive design files according to established protocols.
Adhere to project timelines and communicate progress with the creative team.
Support the marketing team with additional tasks, including reviewing social media deliverables, scheduling email blasts and administrative tasks.
Time Commitment:
The remote internship will generally follow a 9–5pm est schedule from Monday to Friday, with additional hours required for performances and special events. Any extra hours worked will be adjusted in the schedule accordingly.
- Weekly virtual check-ins with the marketing team.
Attendance at project meetings and design reviews (via Zoom).
Must be available for key design deadlines, especially during performance seasons and enrollment periods.
Holidays: Joffrey Ballet School will remain open during all summer holidays.
Meetings: Interns are required to attend all meetings, including weekly check-ins, coordination sessions, and one-on-one meetings with supervisors.
Performance Weeks: Performance weeks (end-of-intensive weeks) are traditionally a busier time at the studios, with time in the theater for tech and dress rehearsals, as well as performances. No days off will be permitted during these weeks.
Compensation:
Salary/Fixed Rate – $250 per week
