Angel Kaba (she/her) is a French internationally recognized Creative & Artistic Director, Performer, and Dance Educator specializing in Afro’Dance and Hip-Hop. Born in Belgium with Congolese and Martiniquean roots, she is now based in New York City, where she shapes the dance landscape and creates opportunities for diverse voices.
Angel is the first African & Caribbean woman to direct and choreograph an Off-Broadway show, BREAKIN’NYC, which celebrates the cultures and stories of Hip-Hop and Street dances. A community-focused artist, she works with people from all over the world, with diverse backgrounds. Founder of Afro’Dance New York, the platform that fosters a genuine sense of community that uplifts the art, business, culture, and knowledge of the African Diaspora.
Throughout her career, Angel has collaborated with artists such as Rihanna, Burna Boy, Kanye West, Coolio, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Taye Diggs, just to name a few. With performances for brands including Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Universal, EssenceFest, RocNation, MTV, NBC, and many more, her choreographic work spans stage, television, and commercial projects. Angel blends movement and storytelling to highlight the richness of social dances from across the diaspora.
Passionate about education, Angel teaches Afro’Dance and Hip-Hop worldwide, focusing on musicality, technique, and cultural authenticity.
