Marijke Eliasberg, a native of the Netherlands, Founder and Co-Artistic Director of The Next Stage Project (TNSP), has been dancing, teaching and choreographing for the past 14 years in New York City. In 2001 Marijke founded the global dance collective: The Next Stage Project (TNSP), which she co-directs with Jana Hicks. With TNSP, she travels around the world, teaching, creating and making exchange and performance projects possible.
Marijke holds a BFA in Physical Education with a specialization in Dance. She continued her Modern Dance studies at the Rotterdam Dance Academy (Codarts) and Dance Space Inc. in NYC. She has performed with numerous companies and choreographers including Jana Hicks, Pauline Levick, Nita Liem, Guido Tuveri, SunHwa Chung, Jenni Hong, Max Stone, and Kevin Wynn. Marijke currently is on faculty at Steps on Broadway, Peridance Center, and Ballet Arts. Other teaching credits include: and the Joffrey Ballet School Contemporary Program, Dance New Amsterdam, Dance Forum, Florida State University in NYC, Dance New Jersey, Frank Sinatra High School of the Arts, and abroad: Theaterschool Amsterdam, Henny Jurriens Foundation, Rotterdam Dance Academie/CODARTS, the Holland Dance Festival among others. Her choreography has been shown in the USA, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden, France, Japan, and India.
