Katie Schmidt is from the Chicago suburbs and is currently a sophomore at Butler University, where she is double majoring in Psychology and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She plans to pursue a career in occupational therapy, with a focus on helping individuals with neurodegenerative diseases maintain and regain their independence in daily life.
With 15 years of ballet training, including 2 years as a full-time Youth-Company member with A&A Ballet during high school, Katie is excited to return to the dance world in a leadership role. Currently, she serves as a Resident Assistant for freshmen students at Butler, where she enjoys building genuine and supportive relationships with her residents. When she isn’t working, she loves to journal, thrift, and go on long runs.
Katie is excited to get to know the dancers and looks forward to using her experience to promote an uplifting environment for everyone at Joffrey Ballet!
