“Laura Di Orio, originally from Pennsylvania, began her dance training at the Mill Ballet School and continued her studies in New York City at the Joffrey Ballet School. She received her BA in Journalism from Fordham University and is currently Content Manager and contributing journalist for Dance Informa, the online dance magazine.
Laura dances with Lydia Johnson Dance and CONTINUUM Contemporary/Ballet and has also performed with the Staten Island Ballet, David Fernandez’s Some Dance Company, Danse En L’air and Roxey Ballet, among others.
She is also a ballet teacher and has taught at schools in NYC and New Jersey, including the Joffrey Ballet School, Peridance Capezio Center, Broadway Dance Center, Lydia Johnson Dance School, Studio E, the Mill Ballet School and the School of Staten Island Ballet.
Laura has also been a dance model for Dane Shitagi’s Ballerina Project, for which she also wrote the book’s introduction; Brian Mengini’s empoweredME, a photo series that honors those battling cancer; and for Eddo Photography.
