Joyce King proud of her NH roots, has a versatility and insatiable appetite to express life through movement, affording her the opportunities to choreograph, teach, an and perform throughout the U.S., Vienna, Costa Rica, Belgium, France, Japan. Joyce continues to enjoy teaching on NYC faculty: Steps on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet Trainee Program, Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive.
In 2008, she established JKing Dance Company, (JKDC) receiving press recognition and awarded the BUILD grant & The Field Artist Residency. King has been commissioned to present works as part of special performances at Symphony Space, DNA, Merce Cunningham Dance Theater, Pinkerton Academy Theatre Arts, Palace Theatre, Dansstage Dance Festival, Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Eugene O’Neil Theaters, Costa Rica. Her work, ‘UnCloaked’ was presented as part of the Louis Vuitton project, ‘Life is a Journey’, a collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Parson, and Joffrey J & C – NYC 2013 Fashion week.
Notable performances: Cats, Chorus Line, Fame, Benefits for Broadway Cares; Michael Jackson Sportswear, Industrials with choreographer Lynne Taylor Corbett, Boston Opera’s Aida and Die Fledermaus with choreographers Sam Kurkjian, Graciela Daniele, and original plays directed by Doug Hall. Concert dance – original works by Adrienne Hawkins, Danny Sloan, Fred Benjamin, Richard Levi, Lynn Simonson, Miquel Lopez, Bruce Taylor and Ron Forella. She trained extensively with Sue Michaud, Michael Owens, Lynn Simonson, Adrienne Hawkins, Michele Assaf, Charles Kakatsakis, Sally Johnson, Frank Kubik and at Boston Rep, Boston Ballet, Hartford Ballet and the Oxford Shakespeare Summer Program, London England.
King continually explores ways to share her experiences and choreography with emerging dancers through national and international master classes, workshops, Summer intensives and dance education programs.
