We audition dancers for ALL PROGRAMS at each audition and the TRAINEE PROGRAM.

WHAT IS AN AUDITION?You will take a class with a Joffrey Ballet School instructor. The dancer will be scored during the class for acceptance, placement and scholarship purposes. Dancers are auditioned for Summer and Trainee programs.
WHO CONDUCTS THE AUDITIONS?All auditions are conducted by Joffrey Ballet School MASTER Faculty.
WHEN DO I RECEIVE AUDITION RESULTS SO I CAN REGISTER?Audition results are emailed within two weeks of the audition. WHERE DO I FIND DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO AUDITION SITES?Click on a school link to get directions.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED AT AUDITIONS?Audition fees must be paid in cash or money order only if you register at the audition.
WHEN IS THE DIGITAL VIDEO AUDITION DEADLINE?We are always seeking new and promising talent to train. Send in a video anytime.
WHEN DOES ONLINE REGISTRATION BEGIN AND WHAT ARE THE FEES?Online Registration (Starts October 17th) - Register in advance online!
Please arrive one hour before your audition time to check in.
CAN I JUST ATTEND THE AUDITION & NOT REGISTER ONLINE?Yes, Please arrive at least one hour before your audition time to register. (Cash or money order only at audition site)
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE AUDITION?Students auditioning for a ballet program, please bring a 5 x 7 picture in 1st arabesque to the audition. Please wear a pink tights and ballet shoes and a leotard of any color. Students on pointe should bring their pointe shoes. Boys wear black tights and a white or black t-shirt.
Students auditioning for a jazz & contemporary program, please bring a 5 x 7 picture of the student jumping with your face visible to the audition. Please wear a leotard and either tights or shorts, and bring both ballet and jazz shoes or sneakers. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE AUDITION RESULTS?Notification of your audition results will be emailed within two weeks of your audition. Please do not call the office within this period to ask about your results. Accepted students will receive an acceptance packet in the mail shortly after their initial notification. This packet will include instructions on accepting the invitation, completing your registration, housing details, and all other information pertaining to the program you have been accepted into.
The Joffrey Ballet School also offers a limited amount of scholarships. These scholarships are given to the most talented students and are based on the audition. There are no forms to fill out for the scholarship. You will be informed in the letter of acceptance if you are one of the scholarship recipients. CAN I SUBMIT A VIDEO AUDITION?Yes. $40.00 FEE – DEADLINE of 06.01.13 WHAT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN A VIDEO SUBMISSION?2013 Ballet Online Video Audition Requirements
The audition submission should begin with a short technical demonstration at the barre or center. The student must include plies, tendues, degages (from fifth position, both straight and with plie), ronde de jambe, passé developpe en croix, grand battements, and balances on one leg. The exercises can be short, but with enough repetition that the dancer can be seen clearly. This section does not need to be more than ten minutes in length. Please also include a classical variation, (on pointe for women) one to two minutes in length. 2013 Jazz & Contemporary Online Video Audition Requirements The audition submission should begin with a short technical demonstration at the barre or center. Special Note:
Auditions are not required for acceptance into Georgia’s Young Dancer Program.
Students will be taken on a first-applied, first-accepted basis.
