NEW YORK CITY  (AGES 10 - 25)

This intensive focuses on jazz, contemporary and modern dance forms culminating in a professionally produced theater performance. Classes also include ballet technique (both classical and contemporary), hip hop, pilates and yoga.

Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive 2013

The Joffrey Ballet School Jazz and Contemporary Intensive 2012 is proud to present the culmination of another successful summer of dance in New York City. The performance at Symphony Space is a fast-paced, eclectic, music video-like spectacular with works created by Tony nominated, and award-winning choreographers, as well as the works of emerging New York City-based artists.

ORIENTATION

All students will attend the program orientation each Monday morning in Studio 6 located at the Main Joffrey Campus (address below). Please arrive at 7:45  and proceed to Studio 6 where you will register. After registration you will either remain in studio 6 or be sent to another studio for orientation.

If you are staying at a Joffrey Dormitory you will receive an orientation for the housing facilities on Sunday evening at 7PM after you check in. Please follow the arrival directions you have received from the housing staff

The official check in times at the dormitory is 12 PM to 4PM on SUNDAYS ONLY

DRESS CODE 

Male and Female students in the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive must purchase the required uniform here.

FEMALE

Ballet: Joffrey Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers

Other classes: Joffrey dance shorts or pants with a Joffrey fitted T-Shirt

MALE

Ballet: Joffrey Fitted Bike Shorts, Joffrey T-Shirt, white or black with matching socks and ballet shoes either black or white

Other classes: Joffrey Fitted Bike Shorts, Joffrey T-Shirt, white or black with matching socks and dance shoes either black or white

DORM CHECK-IN/OUT
The official check in times at the dormitory is 12 PM to 4PM on SUNDAYS ONLY
We have two dorms currently Pace / John St. and Grove St. Students will reside in both locations.

Students staying at any dormitory in New York will need to buy subway passes.

There is a mandatory orientation at all dormitories at 7pm on the day of check in.

All students must check out by 12pm on Saturday.

We do offer airport pick-up and drop-off services at an extra fee. Please sign-up online for this service. SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

Merit based scholarships are available and distributed based on a student's audition.
There are no special forms to fill out; recipients will be notified in their acceptance email.
