Beginner Ballet 2 with Tobin Eason
This next level will expand upon the foundations of Beginner Ballet. The class will focus on continuing to fine-tune the basic positions, posture and alignment, while introducing more advanced steps both at the barre and in the center. Exercises will focus on increasing speed and complexity, coordination of arm and leg movements, and increased strength in the lower body.
7:00 – 8:30pm in Studio 2
Intermediate Ballet with Jessica Kilpatrick
This is the perfect level for dancers who are serious about their training and have many years of experience in ballet. This class will move at a much quicker pace, offering complex combinations both at the barre and in the center. Dancers will be exposed to more advanced and diverse exercises, challenging them to elevate their level of training while still maintaining a strong focus on their core ballet technique. At this level dancers should begin to explore and develop their artistry, musicality and epaulement.
3:15PM – 4:45pm in Studio 2
Beginner Contemporary Dance with Alison Cook Beatty
Class begins with a center warm up focusing on the back and torso with use of spirals and contractions. Strong classical technique grounded in American Modern Dance is the foundation of this class. Passes across the floor develop throughout the course, working into simple combinations that incorporate the repertoire of Alison Cook Beatty Dance. Performance technique, musicality, and the joy and passion of dancing are emphasized. As a resident choreographer of The Joffrey Ballet School, Alison Cook Beatty is delighted to have this opportunity to share her company’s work with you!
7:30pm – 9:00pm in Studio 5
Beginner Ballet with Stephanie Godino
This beginner level is for adults who have a basic understanding of the foundations of ballet. These concepts are incorporated into a full ballet class with exercises at the barre, in the center and moving across the floor. The core emphasis of this level will be on understanding and improving proper alignment, posture, rotation, and flexibility. Dancers will also expand their ballet vocabulary while learning new movements and positions.
7:00pm – 8:30pm in Studio 3
Core Synergy Conditioning with Alison Cook Beatty
This class emphasizes core strength and cardiovascular fitness to develop a body that functions optimally while enhancing one’s natural physique. Incorporating static and dynamic warm-up movements, hatha-based yoga, Pilates-based exercises, multi-planar full-body strengthening exercises, and active isolated stretching techniques, participants will develop balance, flexibility, and core-based strength while improving their aerobic and anaerobic fitness. Suitable for all abilities and fitness levels, this high-energy class is a healthy, fun, and challenging approach to achieving a superb physique and superior level of fitness.
